1.1 The North European Volleyball Zonal Association (NEVZA) has been founded through common efforts of the Nordic National Federations, and shall be an Association including the National Volleyball Federations of the countries in the northern Europe.
The members will at the time of foundation be the respective National Volleyball Federations of following northern European countries: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Greenland and Faeroe Island.
NEVZA can admit other National Federations from northern Europe to become members, through a decision of 2/3 majority votes on the annual General Assembly.
Members of NEVZA will be only National Federations, which are affiliated of the CEV and FIVB.
NEVZA’s exclusive purpose shall be promotion and development of volleyball and beach volleyball in the northern Europe. It shall do all its power to contribute to the development of volleyball and beach volleyball in all ages and categories, men and women, on the level of member Federations as well as on the level of the Association.
1.2 NEVZA, as a sports organization will have an indefinite term. Its operation will be governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and Confederation Europeenne de Volleyball (CEV) and the establishment of the NEVZA as an volleyball association within international volleyball activity and also approval these statutes is subject to their respective approval and recognition. The statutes and activity of NEVZA will be in full adherence with the Constitution and statutes of FIVB and CEV, and if any conflicts arise, the provisions within the latter ones do prevail.
1.3 However, depending on more particular goals, it shall enjoy administrative and managing independence and competence.
1.4 It is expressly noted that the goals of NEVZA and the efforts to fulfil them shall in no case have any political content on one hand, nor shall they in any way oppose the administrative policy and activities of CEV and FIVB. Any activity and competition calendar of NEVZA will be drawn up in close follow up of FIVB and CEV’s activity calendars to ensure there is no conflict of interest, and these activity calendars will be submitted for FIVB and CEV when due.
1.5 The seat of NEVZA will be the country of the elected General Secretary of NEVZA. The official Language of NEVZA shall be English.
1.6 NEVZA may suspend or even terminate participation of any member or a club belonging to that member’s National Federation, in NEVZA activities, based on particularly justified resolution of the General Assembly in the following cases:
1. Upon a justified request of a member Federation
2. After a serious breach of the present Statutes or Regulations on the part of the member Federation, its legal representative or its volleyball teams (national team or a club).
1.7 Members of NEVZA, which ceases to be a member of the CEV and FIVB by resignation or expulsion, shall automatically loose its membership in NEVZA. A suspension of a member in CEV and FIVB will automatically lead to suspension of the member in NEVZA.
1.8 In order to become a member of NEVZA, the National Federation shall submit a written request including its unconditional confirmation of compliance with these statutes and consequent responsibilities of fulfilling member’s obligations towards NEVZA, to the General Assembly of NEVZA who will then decide upon the acceptance of the Federation’s membership status.
1.9 If a member wishes to withdraw from NEVZA, it has to notify the Presidency at least 12 weeks before the General Assembly.
